Joseph Robert, the Chairman and CEO of J.E. Robert Companies, founded the nonprofit
organization Fight For Children in 1990 as way to help underprivileged children
and youth gain access to high quality educational and health care services. Because
of his own struggles and experiences while growing up, Joe has always felt a sense
of compassion and empathy for kids who lack the resources and opportunities they
need to become successful. Fight For Children is his way of reaching out to the
children and youth of Washington, DC.
To elevate the public's awareness of Fight For Children and to generate financial
support for its cause, Joe created Fight Night. One of the most highly acclaimed
events in Washington, Fight Night brings together the heavyweights of business and
government, entertainment and community service, as well as legends from the boxing
world, for an evening of fun, auctions, and even professional boxing. Last year,
the event raised $2.8 million.
Joe knows from experience that it’s easy for children to get knocked down.
He also knows that once they do, it’s hard for them to get back on their feet.
Thanks to Fight For Children and the money raised by events such as Fight Night,
these children and youth have someone fighting in their corner.
